Schitt's Creek Inspiration

Any Schitt's Creek fans? Okay well we are obsessed and just watched the series finale and the behind the scenes last night.  And I was crying through the behind the scenes.  If you haven't watched this show, please do.  It's funny, enlightening, and just plain entertaining.  I'll get to my point... HA!

Moira Rose.  She is a character in the show and not kidding, she is dressed to the nines in every episode.  I mean the craziest, most dramatic clothing and hair.  It's amazing.  Every character had a clothing personality that they really maintained throughout all episodes. Daniel Levy, the writer and actor in Schitt's Creek had the best quote from the behind the scenes farewell special,

"Wardrobe is probably the most important element in storytelling outside of actually writing. Because we as people say so much about who we are and what we believe in and what we want and what we think of ourselves by the way that we dress."

I literally went back and listened to the quote like three times and then recorded it.  YES!!! I just love it so much.  I really resonate with this.  When I first got my color and style done I wanted to tell everyone! I mean, I was just so excited that I finally felt confident and authentically myself with what I was presenting to the world.  Or just to my kids but either way!  It was a big deal to me.  But I found that I was a little bit embarrassed to tell people.  Or felt weird about it in a way.  I felt like I was maybe being superficial by having these things done and even caring about it as much as I did.  I would even catch myself saying "I know its a bit superficial, but you really should do it."  NO. no no no.  It's not superficial.  We really are setting the tone for how we feel about ourselves and how we want others to perceive us.  

Daniel Levy's words really hit me because it's so true.  Every single day I use knowledge from my color and style consultations to be the best version of me.  I feel seen, heard, pretty, and more confident. All things to express myself. Hands down this was one of the best investments I could have done for myself.  It's not superficial at all, it's something that could change your life for the better!
