HAIR

Warm or Cool? That is the question.  If you follow me you probably know that I have my cosmetology license and used to do hair.  I love all things hair and fashion and fun.  But even as a stylist I didn't know whether it suited me to have warm or cool highlights.  My hair lifts decently light and I was okay with my highlights going platinum and sometimes went for more of a neutral for my lowlight.  I would sometimes even tone my highlights to get that very ashy blonde.

When I got my colors done I learned that I am yellow based, a spring to be exact.  This told me a lot in general but you better believe I thought of my hair immediately.  No more using those toners to get my hair an ashy blonde.  I have always colored my hair since beauty school and I switched up my routine a little bit.  Obviously if you are not a stylist, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. Haha.  Simply take your booklet in that you get when you get your colors done into the salon and show your stylist.  They will 100% understand warm and cool and the descriptors for the seasons.  They will be able to talk with you about your options as not everyone can get to the color or level of hair they want to.

This part might be more interesting to someone that does hair but read on if you really want to.  Haha.  So I've been using Blondor from Wella for my lightner.  For my lowlights I literally used my color wallet and picked out a swatch in Color Sync that matches close to my "tan" color.  A little on the lighter side.  I also use a Shades EQ Toner Vanilla Creme to add some shine and make sure I'm not going too light on my highlights.  Want to keep some golden tones in there.
Before toner and after toner. Also these look like mug shots.
Getting your colors done doesn't just tell you the colors of clothes to wear.  It can also make you feel more confident in the choices you are making for your hair.  Getting your hair colored is a big investment and it takes the guess work out of knowing what is going to look best on you.  As always, thanks for reading!!
